Fiberglass Windows

Fiberglass expands and contracts with heat at nearly the same rate as glass, so the seals stay tight and the frames stay straight through decades of East Bay summers. It’s the material we reach for when windows are big, dark-colored or facing hard afternoon sun.

Glass Fibers Locked in Resin

Fiberglass frames are made by pulling glass fibers through resin, a process called pultrusion. The result is very strong and very stable, which lets manufacturers make slimmer frames that hold more glass.

Because the frame moves with temperature almost exactly like the glass it holds, the seal between them stays tight. Fiberglass also takes paint and dark finishes without the warping risk of vinyl.
