Patio Doors

Multi-Slide & Folding Doors

Multi-slide, lift-and-slide and folding doors turn a wall of glass into an opening, so the living room and the patio become one space. With East Bay weather, it’s the upgrade that changes how you use your home most of the year.

A Wall That Opens

A multi-slide door has several large panels that slide past each other and stack to one side, or disappear into a pocket in the wall. A lift-and-slide version lifts each heavy panel off its seal so it glides easily, then lowers it to seal tight. A folding, or bi-fold, door has panels that hinge together and fold like an accordion to one side.

These are big, heavy systems, so the opening, the header above it and the floor below all have to be right. That’s why we look at the structure first and plan the job around it.

Multi-Slide and Folding Door FAQ

Straight answers from the people who install them.

Multi-slides have fewer, larger panels and a cleaner look when closed. Folding doors open the full width but leave the folded panels visible. We’ll show you both for your opening.
Often, yes. A wide opening needs a properly sized header. We assess the wall at the estimate and include any structural work and permit in the quote.
A system where each panel lifts off its seal to slide easily, then lowers to seal tightly when closed. It makes very large panels easy to move.
With a pocket configuration, yes. It takes more construction, so it’s easiest during a remodel.
Size, material, panel count, glass and hardware all change the price, and so does any structural work on the opening. We measure first, then give you a fair, detailed written quote for free, and the quote is the price you pay.
